Poetry Tuesday
Today’s poem is actually just a portion of a poem I love to use with the class as a way to not only get their attention but also to signify that their time is up and that we are going to be moving on to the next thing. It comes from Alice In Wonderland but I also know that it comes at the end of the first part of Harriet the Spy which I read to my students. A great book!
“The time has come,” the Walrus said,
“To talk of many things:
Of shoes–and ships–and sealing-wax–
Of cabbages–and kings–
And why the sea is boiling hot–
And whether pigs have wings.”
